"The contrast of architectural forms and the organic softness of the human form is an endlessly fascinating combination for me as an artist. I enjoy mixing these contemporary and classical elements together in my paintings, using traditional materials and the techniques of classical realism. I hope to evoke in my viewers a sense of possibility, while satisfying the mind’s desire for detail and the eye’s desire for beauty."Bryan has been drawing and painting since childhood. As a young person he was also fascinated with math and science, and always found creative ways to mix the two worlds. After acquiring a strong foundation in art while studying illustration, and a greater appreciation for the sciences during mechanical engineering studies, he decided to take the plunge and return to his first love: fine art. Specifically, the kind of technically challenging and representational art that evokes in the viewer an appreciation for achievement, science, engineering, mathematics and contemporary architecture. Most of his work also has a figurative component and celebrates the beauty of the human form. These days, Bryan can usually be found standing before a large easel in his home in Los Alamos, New Mexico.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------EDUCATION GRAND CENTRAL ACADEMY OF ART, New York City, NY June 2008 – Summer Intensive Drawing with Jacob Collins July 2008 – Summer Intensive Figure Painting with Douglas Flynt UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY, Logan, UT Pursued B.A. of Fine Art in Illustration – 1993-1994 EXHIBITIONS, AWARDS & COMMISSIONS December 2010 - 'Champions of Realism' Group Show, Wendt Gallery, Laguna Beach, CA May 2010 – ‘Muse and Medium’, Award of MeritSpringville Museum Annual Spring Salon, Springville, UT May 2010 – ‘Contrast’, Art Renewal Center Annual Salon FinalistArt Renewal Center International Salon, Port Reading, NJ Jan 2010 – Commission Painting - ‘Through the Storm’Cover of BB&T’s Annual Report, Winston-Salem, NC May 2009 – ‘Deliberation’, Art Renewal Center Annual Salon Finalist, Art Renewal, Port Reading, NJ Mar 2009 – Commission Painting - ‘BB&T Lighthouse’BB&T's Promotional Logo/Illustration, Winston-Salem, NC Jan 2009 – Commission Painting - ‘Our Best Days are Ahead’Cover of BB&T’s Annual Report, Winston-Salem, NC Jan 2008 – Commission Painting - ‘A Solid Foundation’Cover of BB&T’s Annual Report, Winston-Salem, NC Dec 2007 – Commission Painting - ‘Monna Vanna’In honor of the Stella Adler reproduction of Maeterlink’s play'Monna Vanna,' Los Angeles, CA June 2007 – Commission Painting – ‘Breaking Through’Honor of achievements of Durango Partners, Arlington, TX May 2007 – ‘Ready for the Day’, Award of MeritSpringville Museum Annual Spring Salon, Springville, UT Jan 2007 – Commission Painting – ‘There’s Opportunity Here’Cover of BB&T’s Annual Financial Report, Winston-Salem, NC Oct 2006 – ‘With Age, Subtlety’ by Shawn RossiterUtah art e-zine 15 Bytes, Salt Lake City, UT Sep 2006 – ‘Art in Industry’ Rose Wagner Art CenterTwo-person exhibition at the Rose Wagner Art Center, Salt Lake City, UT July 2006 – ‘Waking Among the Clouds’, Best in ShowIntermountain Society of Artists, Juried Exhibition, Salt Lake City, UT Jan 2006 – Commission Painting – ‘There’s Opportunity Here’Cover of BB&T’s Annual Financial Report, Winston-Salem, NC
