Whoa, That Was Unexpected

Published by Sara under Art News, Artist Life

Wow, it appears we’ve taken a short hiatus from blogging for the past two weeks… sorry ’bout that. Heh heh. Bryan and I have been overwhelmed with a small flood of questions, comments, and yes, even a couple of (our favorite ‘c’ word) commissions. All of which appear to be issuing from this short stint at Rose Wagner. Technically it’s the first inkling that we can sell any artwork at all in our hometown (although it’s not the first artsy item we’ve sold). It’s official that art in Utah is coming into its own. First, thanks to Valerie Price, SL County Arts Gal (and artist herself) for throwing a great party. Thanks again to all of our friends, family, and even strangers that came through the gallery on Sept. 8th and offered their encouragement. Thanks to Shawn Rossiter, editor of 15 Bytes e-zine for the great interview.

Soooo, I’ve had a lot on my mind through all the busyness though and will probably be writing a lot here for the next week or so… so stay tuned for topics like:

Spending Time in Rural Utah Searching for Good Art
Why Are Art Colonies Springing up in Rural Utah Anyway?
Why Old Mormon Pioneer Homes Are Weird But Interesting
Why Does Robert Redford Like Horses So Much?
Why Math Homework is Good for Complacency
Why American Fork Hospital Emergency Room Staff Kick Ass
If I Put in an RSS Feed How Many of You Readers Would Subscribe? Heh.

More To Come…

Rose Wagner Reception

Published by Sara under Art News, Miscellaneous

Here’s a quick photo blog on the reception. More details to follow when I have more time, but I thought it would be nice to throw up a few pics. Much fun was had by all who attended.

Anthony Ryder & Andreeva Portrait Gallery

One of our readers (thanks Marnee!) tipped us off to an excellent artist, Mr. Anthony Ryder who lives down in Santa Fe, New Mexico. His artwork shows an amazing attention to detail and great skill with the brush. Please enjoy his portfolio and if you are an aspiring artist in the Santa Fe area, the Andreeva Portrait Academy offers many classes with world-class instructors.
