Ahh…That new format smell…
There’s nothing quite like tooling around in your new Wordpress…although I do still occasionally stomp around with my left foot looking for the clutch. The important thing is that I can post images again.
I will begin with yesterday’s sketch: a little red and black ink number that I like to call ‘Finger Lickin’ Good’.
These next two images show the progress of the painting currently on the easel. I included the first image because it’s color is much more representative of the original, although the second is obviously more recent.
I have already received several sketches in response to my earlier request for submissions. I plan on beginning a monthly ‘Guest Sketchbook’ featuring a few of these with a possible critiquing forum. I am not sure of the format just yet but please continue to send in your images.
Finally, Sara put a lot of work into this format conversion over the holiday weekend. We are still fine tuning and working out the few remaining issues. In the mean time, please let us know what you think.

Salt Lake Holiday Stroll
The Salt Lake Gallery Association is hosting a special Holiday Stroll this Friday from 6-9. For a list of participating galleries and a map, visit www.gallerystroll.org. It will probably be a fine night to see the lights on Temple Square too.

Wordpress is Pretty Cool
Wheeew… that was a bit of work. If I were a total pro with this web-thingy (a series of tubes) I’m sure that the installation and importation instructions would have been a little less confusing, but I run a more fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants operation over here - a la Malcolm Reynolds - and there were a few moments where I thought we’d lost the blog (apart from the four backups). The formatting is a little screwy coming over from Blogger and I’d like to categorize more of our old posts, but for the most part everything is intact. If you happen to link to our blog please take note of the new address above. I figured it would be easier to host everything on one server. The appearance of the blog is still in question. The functionality of this particular template is great but I would love some feedback on the look and feel, ease of use, that sort of thing. I also have to work on the RSS feed for posts and comments. Other than that I think we’re good to go.

So…no hard feelings… right?
I seem to have resolved my differences with Blogger just in time to get off a few last posts before we move to the new format. During the brief black-out, I didn’t manage to get a lot of sketching done; in fact this image from the 16th is all I have to show for the three missing days.
This is not to say that I haven’t been working. Here is the latest image of the progress on the painting of Grace:
Also, I will be doing a sketch today which, hopefully, will be up by this evening.

Weekend Blog Construction
Recent frustrations with blogger have precipitated a switch to Wordpress. We will be importing to the new format over the holiday weekend. I don’t anticipate any problems but you never know how it will go. Hopefully Monday morning we’ll be showing a brand new and much more interesting interface. Thanks.
